ATHERETIC – Adhesion, Aversion... 25th Anniversary

The extreme metal band ATHERETIC, based in Montreal, released their debut album Adhesion, Aversion in 2001 through Neoblast Records. The group quickly established itself as one of the pillars of the Montreal metal scene.

With an ultra-fast, technical, and chaotic musical approach, they performed extensively throughout the province and drew attention from fans and media worldwide.

At that time, Atheretic rose to become one of the most extreme acts in the Canadian scene, pushing the limits of brutal death metal alongside major bands like Cryptopsy, Gorguts, and Kataklysm.

To mark the 25th anniversary of Adhesion, Aversion..., Atheretic offers more than a simple reissue: this is a new mix, originally recorded in 2000 at Peter Pan Studio in Montreal by Sébastien Gilbert and remastered in 2025 at Empire Recording by Mickael Desnoyers. This new version intensifies the original work and restores the album’s full energy and impact.

The reissue was spearheaded by founding guitarist Dany Leblanc.

The result:
a true sonic storm — a brutal concentration of Atheretic’s essence, meant to push the boundaries of the sophisticated extreme music of that era. A fierce musicality, deeply infused with the violence and raw power of Quebec’s metal culture. Staying true to their raw, uncompromising artistic vision, Atheretic brings back the original cover artwork by painter Alexandra Fatta.

The album will be available exclusively in physical format, with a limited edition of 200 vinyl copies.
