Born in 1970, Patrick Loisel aka Merfolk first performed onstage in 1985. In 1990 he temed with old friends to start Foreshadow, producing four recordings until the guys went their respective ways at the end of 1995. Still they remained freinds and the band is currently active again.

 

He adopted the monicker Merfolk in 1994, initially for a ... mini-submarines business he had in mind. It was also the name of his guitar shop 2006-2023.

 

At the end of 1996, Patrick joined Death metal band Deafness where he brough his more extreme songwiting  as well as drums and keyboard composition. This tranformed Deasfness into Kralizec, considered one of the first blackened death metal bands.

 

Fall 1997, Patrick met Mathieu Marcotte and Dominic Lapointe. finally joining forces with them in February 2002 to create Augury.

 

In 2020, Patrick decided to undertake his ultimate artistic challenge by building a studio on top of carafting instruments, then by recording the album ''Demersal'' to finally build props and sets to shoot two videoclips.

 

This entirely alone...

 

In 2024, he kept up and recorded Sundaland, on which he played 8 instruments.
